customising cool: clothes
Published 2006 by Apple Press
This was my first sewing book, commissioned by the lovely PB. That season embellished clothes were completely fashionable – so the book was perfectly timed – but it was a nightmare finding plain but good-looking garments that I could decorate myself. The experience almost (but not quite) put me off shopping.
I got to work with lots of friends on this book: JR, Amy and little Elvis modelled, Anna gave fashion advice, Chubby took the pictures; all in all a good time was had.

Review from Amazon.co.uk
This book is for my daughter. She is hoping to buy well-made clothes from charity shops and add details such as sequin flowers or lace collars, then sell them on from a market stall. She also wants to add original style clothes to her own wardrobe. 'Customising Cool Clothes' provides 30 projects to enable her to do this. She finds the ideas inspiring and the instructions easy to follow. As this is the first time she has attempted to update clothes, this is important. Her first few projects have resulted in attractive, wearable clothes, thanks to the ideas in the book.
This book was published by Interweave in the US; this is their cover.
